After many years spent researching and practicing textile design and sustainability, she is currently focusing on conducting applied research and consultancy for the circular economy and the fashion/interior textiles sector. As well as the creative and technical aspects of recycling, Becky is also interested in the role of the design facilitator in creating institutional and cultural change towards more sustainable and circular practices. Becky is an award-winning designer and researcher whose creative textile and fashion work has been widely exhibited over the last twenty five years. Her printed fashion garments are collected by museums across the globe including MFIT in New York and the V&A in London. In 2010 Becky co-developed The TEN - sustainable strategies which aim to help designers reduce the environmental impact of textile design, production, use and disposal. Aiming to educate and inspire users to make more informed and innovative decisions, Becky uses design-led methods including 'Layered Thinking' in workshop scenarios to systematically reconsider the decision making process. Recent research projects have begun to evolve The TEN into scalable concepts for design teams to adopt in large corporations in the UK, USA and Sweden. Becky's recent consultancy portfolio includes Zero Waste Scotland, H&M in Sweden, VF Corporation (USA), Future Factory (UK), PPR Home (now Kering), Gucci Group and Puma, COS and TCC, Sustainable Fashion Academy & clients.
